Regular physical activity is one of the most important ways to improve one’s health. In this article we will show you how regular exercise which can be as simple as a daily walk can help improve your health. It is proven that consistent physical activity can help a person look better, prevent disease and illness, reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. While most people know these benefits, they find it hard to find the time to be physically active due to their busy lifestyle. We hope this article helps convince you to get started with regular exercise, here are just a few health benefits that come with being physically active.
Walking improves health

How Exercise Aids in weight control

Exercise plays a vital role in weight control. Everything we eat contains calories, and everything we do burns calories. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. Most people (when they think of physical activity) regard it as training for a marathon or believe they have to spend more time at the gym to work out. However, you don’t have to go completely out of your way to get physically active. Many daily activities can be part of your daily routine and can include walking to the convenient store instead of driving or cycling to work if it's not too far and you work inside all day. Other ways to get active, productive and build healthy habits include gardening, doing your own yard work, joining a softball team or anything else that would be fun for you. These activities will give you something to do that you enjoy and help control your weight.

Physical Activity improves your Well Being

Reduces the risk of heart disease and improves health conditions
Heart disease is a leading cause of death all around the world. Regular physical activity will help improve the functionality of your heart and lungs. Activity boosts the production of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or good cholesterol and decreases the amount of sugar and fat in the bloodstream. This helps lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. It also helps in improving the overall health conditions by preventing and managing a wide range of health problems including Type 2 diabetes, stroke, arthritis and much more.

Physical Activity boosts energy and strengthens bones and muscles
Along with improving your health physical activity also aids in delivering oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and helps the cardiovascular system work more efficiently. This improves your muscle strength and increases your endurance over time. It also helps in the prevention and management of osteoporosis by slowing the loss of bone density while increasing joint function and strengthening muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Improve mental health and mood
This is a big one for me. Studies have shown that physical activity stimulates the release of endorphins into the brain which makes you feel happier and more relaxed. This helps in improving your mood which in turn boosts confidence and self-esteem. Another big plus is consistent exercise has shown to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. It has also been found that physical activity helps to maintain mental alertness and sharpness. And for those of us that want to learn you also benefit from  improved learning and memory.

Physical Activity promotes better sleep
Exercise is the best way to combat insomnia and get the rest you need. Physical activity helps you to sleep better, deeper and feel refreshed when you when you wake up. You want to avoid exercising before bedtime, or you may be too tired to go to sleep. Try to exercise in the morning or early evening to give you the best opportunity to have a great night's sleep.

Its fun and social

Physical activity can be fun and enjoyable. Activities such as hiking, taking a dance class can allow you to socialize at the same time of maintaining a healthy life. Find something you really enjoy such as cycling through a local park or joining a softball league. Look for opportunities to join a sporting league but make sure it's something you enjoy. When you find the right community of active people it's much more likely that you will keep going with your new healthy lifestyle. It's all about being happy and we recommend you start small but start today.
